nearly fell over, some one rec'ed a fic of mine - but unfortunately it's not the one Rachel is after, the boys first time isn't in a tent in mine - I know I haven't updated it for a long while, but I have plans to finish it, just need a word processing program (shakes fist at Apple Help Desk) and a better thumb.
Might not be the one being looked for, but it's still a great fic! Looking forward to more when you can get it written. Thumb trouble?
Thanks guys! Will give this one a read anyway! :)
Sorry it's not what you're looking for, hopefully someone else knows.
been a year and a bit from hell (well except for the bit when I was in the UK) Husband left - I have three kids - 5, 6 and 11, He left me to pay two mortgages (I have to pay both as I live on one house and getting the rent from the other, but the rent just covers the cost, and sometimes they are late to pay and there are other things relating to the house I have to pay, so I still have to pay, and the house we live in is expensive and all the bills) Working night full time and every weekend to make enough to cover the bills (a lot of juggling and taking money for one thing to pay the other) My computer hard drive died (under warranty but it still cost $99, that one was a surprise) and now pages wont work, have been arguing with Apple since mid January and they still have come up with an answer. ex has decided it is too tiring to have the kids every weekend, so he has them every second! And the thumb, broke it shopping - well carrying the shopping into the house, I shopped after doing a night shift, and all I wanted to do was get to bed and tried to carry too much in one go, the bag holding 2x2litre bottles of cordial slipped and pulled my thumb back, 4 weeks in a cast (had fun tell people that I was plastered, but not in a good way) now it just hurts, I guess typing and looking after the kids haven't help it mend, but I have a physio appointment today (who needs sleep, finished at 4, home by 4:30, kids back from dads at 6:30, breakfast, ready for school, drop them off, usually I can get some sleep until time to pick them up (Oliver is in kindy so has to be dropped off and picked up for the first 2 terms) which is 2:30, but have to be at the hospital at 10:20) - sorry had a bit of a rant, but will be writing more soon (have also been working on a AU, with the boys in school, it's up to about 107000 words, not planning on posting it until it's finished, hate wip that get lef (which is just what I have done) Did you ever read my Lost in Time, I think it is quite good (blushes) pamela
*Hugs* Rant away! You really are having a rough time of it! I hope the physio helps your thumb, that sounds very painful, it's adding injury to insult, you could have done without the added problems!
Haven't read Lost in Time yet, but it's on my To Read list (I just checked) I have to keep lists of what I've read and what I want to read, otherwise I lose track!
I just realised I haven't sent the rest of those fics I promised you! Honestly, I have a brain like a sieve, especially in winter - I think it goes ito sleep mode even while I'm supposedly awake. Winter doesn't agree with me, lol! I'll get some of them sent in a minute.
Hope your computer gets sorted out soon.
Love, Jean
It was 30 c yesterday and very humid, we've had torrential rain and flooding, at least it has put out the bushfires - Was in the UK in November and loved the weather - cold and bracing - fine if you are wearing the right clothes - Impressed with the number of places, museums etc, that had coat check, so you didn't over heat in your overcoat when inside. - so want to go back.
Don't stress about sending fics, when you can is fine.
hugs pamela
I'm just tired of being freezing cold even indoors! Heard about the fires and floods, hopefully the weather has settled a bit now. Been a lot of flooding over here too, but not near us, thankfully.
My blasted email's not working properly, attachments won't attach. Really unhelpful. You'll get the fics at some point though.
Promise! Jean
If you still need a word processing program, check out openoffice.org. It's an open source office suite that is a free download and I believe it works on MAC, PC, and UNIX/LINUX operating systems.
Hope things clear up for you!
thanks for the suggestion, I'm trying it at the moment, but I'm having problems opening pages documents, but there must be a way - will look at it when not sleep deprived - I hadn't thought of Open Office, good call. | |
